The Cuba dilemma: To go to Havana now or wait until prices go down.
This is a question I get asked all the time. Should one experience the Havana of today that we have been hearing about for so many years, or the mass market Havana of the future which will inevitable lose what has made Havana such and iconic place for the last 50 years.
One thing is for sure, the crumbling architecture will be restored to its original grandeur, but at the same time I fear that the egalitarian culture of today will transform into a capitalist mass market economy where the genuine charm of today’s Havana (so unusual in a world that is becoming more homogenous) will be lost.
